Help me! My Canon FS31 is Malfunctioning!?

When I turn on my camcorder, it takes forever for the screen to show anything, and if it does, the image is extremely blurry, so much that's it's hard to make anything out at all. It also takes a long time for it to turn off. What's wrong with it, and what can I do to fix it?
