Did he ask me out, I'm a little confused?

So I've been texting my best friend's brother for a while now, but lately we've been texting more often. I kind of like him, and I get the feeling that he kind of likes me. Well he's getting a new car and it's manual transmission. I mentioned that I didn't know how to drive a manual transmission and he offered to teach me. He offered to teach me today, but I couldn't go because I had a family thing to do, but I got to thinking, was that him asking me out? I've never been asked out before, I have no clue about any of this stuff.
