Why would p0440 be tied in with p0410?

2001 Chevy blazer 4.3 automatic. Not the gas cap; replaced it already and hoses are in good shape. WHY would p0440 (evap malfunction) be tied into p0410 (2ndary air malfunction). What could be the problem?
