Why are people telling me I keep going "offline"?

On Facebook, when I'm having a conversation on chat, people keep seeming to ask me..."Why do you keep going offline?". I have no clue why they're asking me this because I am clearly online! Is it Facebook malfunctions? Am I doing something wrong? Anyone?
